I am 38 years of age and work as an IT Manager.
I have gradually put on weight since leaving University and vowed that in 2008 I would get fit and drop the excess poundage.
My journey started on 3rd Januray when i weighed 226 lbs.
So far so good.... am down to 198 and have lost at least 1.75 lbs every week.
Fitness is much improved and I am feeling pretty good. Must sustain the effort now and achieve my goal.

I guess that I should have expected that it would get progressively harder towards the end but I didnt. No matter, I am still 100% committed and have even lowered my goal by 2 lbs.
so, the clock has been reset and I have 10 lbs to go. Thats sounds familiar :p
I have exercised every night for the last 2-3 weeks, have been strict with my diet and I have lost only 2.5 pounds in 3 weeks.
The last 9 pounds are going to take some time I think :/
I use an elliptical at least 4 times a week. usually for 45 minutes on a hill climb programme at medium/high intensity. I do some push-ups and sit-ups on a daily basis and a little work with free weights.
At the weekends I do 1 run of about 2 miles and do at least one walk of 4-8 miles, usually in the mountains of Snowdonia in Wales.
I am not a big runner, had some knee problems a few years ago and so tend to prefer the low impact stuff.
